James W. Manley, DO

GLVIPA Chair

James W. Manley, D.O. was born and raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He graduated from the Pennsylvania State University and received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. The Allentown Osteopathic Medical Center provided Dr. Manley his internship and residency in Family Medicine and he is board certified in Family Medicine. 

In addition to his private family practice duties, Dr. Manley serves as a school physician for the Bethlehem Area School District. An active leader in the medical community, Dr. Manley was involved in the formation of the Greater Lehigh Valley Independent Practice Association (GLVIPA) and the Lehigh Valley Physician Hospital Organization (LVPHO), now doing business as Valley Preferred. He has served as the GLVIPA Chair since January 2009 and in April 2015 was elected as Chair of the LVPHO Board of Trustees. 

Above all and most important in Dr. Manley’s life is his family - his wife Anne and his children Alexandra and James. 

Oscar Morffi, MD

Vice Chair / Treasurer

Oscar A. Morffi, M.D. is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has been in private practice in the Lehigh Valley for the last 28 years. He is a past President of the Lehigh County Medical Society and serves as the Treasurer of the Society, a position he has held for the past 15 years. 

Dr. Morffi is very interested and active in organized medicine. He has held numerous clinical teaching positions at Hahnemann Medical School, Penn State College of Medicine, and DeSales University. He is a board member of the Allentown Board of Health. Currently, he is a member of the Valley Preferred Board of Trustees as well as the Treasurer and Vice Chair of the GLVIPA Board. Most of all he is a proud Cuban-American. 

Joseph A. Candio, MD

Secretary

Joseph A. Candio, M.D. is the Executive Vice Chair for the Department of Medicine at Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) and serves as Secretary of the Board of Trustees for both Valley Preferred and the Greater Lehigh Valley Independent Practice Association. He is a general internist for LVHN and has held numerous leadership positions throughout his career, including President of the LVHN medical staff (1991-1992). In addition, Dr. Candio currently holds the titles of Chief, General Internal Medicine, and Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at USF/Morsani College of Medicine. He was recently honored as the endowed chair in internal medicine.
